Acrade box art

This is the box art I did for some arcade sticks I made for my nephews for Christmas. They both like Batman and Spiderman. I wish I had more time to noodle them. More pics to come.

Nonsense

"The village feverishly worked through the night to complete the giant Hulk Hogan robot. Only then will they be able to counter the evil that awaits them."

Unicron Update 3

Finally got some time in on ol' Mr. Uni. This is where it stands right now. There are some issues with lighting composition I need to work on. This piece is taking a long time to produce only because of the final size I'm painting at. The details have to hold at 70 inches long because I plan on producing a print at that size. Stay tuned.

Sheng Long

I picked at the Sheng Long sketch a little. The one on the left was a design I was playing with before the SFIV design came out. It's actually based off the EGM joke many years ago. I compared the two to see how off I was. Still was fun trying to design him.

Ol' Painless

Just another tablet pc doodle. I like to sketch during the football games on Sunday. Clearly inspired by Ol' Painless from Predator.

Tablet PC back in action

Got my tablet pc up and running again. Had to do some stupid windows 7 work around to get my pressure sensitivity. Did this piece watching my Chiefs spank the Jags today.

Mudbox Turntable test

Noodled the Akuma a bit. I still need to finish the legs, belt and the ball necklace he usually has on. Played around with the textures then kicked out a turntable with the built in feature in Mudbox. I really love this program. Now if I can find some time to really make portfolio quality pieces.

Mudbox

Just started using this program. Pretty amazing. Didn't have a design in mind. These are just doodles. I might start using this program in my pipeline. Still deciding if it's still faster to just sketch poses vs modeling them. Stay tuned.

Scorpioflo Album Cover

Here is the doodle the piece was based off of.

I did this for a friend of mine Kelly Baber. He's a music producer and he asked me if I could contribute to his project. Couldn't pass an opportunity to collab with him. He's extremely talented. It was really fun working with him on this. We'll be linking up at the end of this month in New Mexico to chill, game out and maybe work on a few more pieces.

Check his stuff out:

Unicron_Update

I like this direction much better. Still gotta a lot of work left but I feel more comfortable investing time in this piece. The perspective is more stable. I'm glad I started over.

Unicron_Starting from scratch

The more I kept working on it the more I realized that perspective was off. I got frustrated and put on the back burner. I found some time during the holiday break to work on personal projects and Unicron was on the list. So this time around I generated a 3d model the help me out. I really want to do this piece justice. I used Studio Max for my 3d package.I still gotta model the head, arms, wings and planets. Stay tuned.

Unicron

I was hoping he would be in TF2 some how. Gotta keep wishing for that one I guess. Still wanted to a tribute piece. I had this idea that Unicron was sitting on a throne carved out a huge planet. His hands rest on small moons. I figure he would create his own gravity so there would be a asteroid belt around him made out of debris of planets he consumed.

I might redo this one at this point. The more I flesh this out the more I see flaws in my perspective. That's what I get for being sloppy at the beginning. Like building a house with uneven foundation.

ipod touch-Sketchbook Mobile

A friend of mine let me play with his iphone and it had an app on there called Sketchbook Mobile from Autodesk. It lets you sketch and paint with your finger. It was only $1.99. I was so impressed that I went out and bought a ipod touch just for that app. I'm still exploring the capabilities. But so far it's a lot of fun. My only suggestion is they make a cursor offset from your finger so you can see what your painting. Right now your finger covers up the cursor so it's hard to be accurate sometimes. But it's a minor complaint. Can't wait for the next version. Hope they make this app for the Android because most likely that will be my next phone.

The Phalanx 6

Just another practice piece. Was trying to imagine what current weapon systems would look like if they had legs.

Halodad

This is some concept work I did for a low budget movie called Halodad. I did some costume, interior, and ship designs. Still working on it. I'll post more when I finish them.

The director is doing almost all the production. Pretty awesome. Here's his Facebook page if you're interested.

Birthday present for my niece

My niece turned 14 this weekend and she had asked me to do a Larry Fitzgerald painting. She's a native Arizonan so naturally she like the Cardinals. I wish I had more time to do a acrylic piece but a digital version will have to do for now. There are parts I would like to work on, mostly the hands because I couldn't figure out what they looked like based off the reference I had. I needed more time to do more studies. This was more of an observation piece meaning I just looked at a existing picture I pulled off the internet. Didn't have time to create some original reference. I was able to video capture this one as well. Hope you like it.
